Ingredients
- salmon fillet (boneless, skinless) — 200 g
- jasmine rice — 80 g
- fresh ginger — 15 g, julienned
- chicken stock or water — 1 liter
- salt — 3/4 tsp
- sesame oil — 1/2 tsp
- white pepper — 1 pinch
- scallions — 1 stalk, chopped
Steps (beginner-friendly)
- Rinse the rice 2-3 times until the water runs almost clear, then drain.
- Bring 1 liter stock to a boil, add the rice, and stir once so it does not stick.
Tip: Salmon provides omega-3s (DHA) important for postpartum mood and baby's brain development through breast milk; congee is warm and gentle on the digestive system.
