Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FridgeScan ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Lei Wang, an individual sole proprietor, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Fridge photos. When you use the AI scan feature, the image you upload is transmitted to our server function and then to a third-party AI vision model provider solely to detect food ingredients. We do not store your images on our servers after the request is processed, and we do not use them to train models.

Community submissions. If you post on our community board, we collect the nickname, selected recipe, and message text you submit. We do not require an email address to post. Submissions are reviewed before publication.

Email address. If you contact us by email, or if you subscribe to any newsletter, we collect your email address.

Usage counters. Free AI scan usage is tracked in your browser's local storage. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Technical data. Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and operational purposes.

2. Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by Creem as merchant of record. We do not receive, see, or store your card number, billing address, or other payment credentials. Creem's privacy policy governs the payment data it collects.
