Ingredients
- white fish (bass, tilapia, or snapper) — 1 whole (about 400 g), cleaned
- green papaya — 300 g, peeled and cut into chunks
- ginger — 5 slices
- cooking oil — 1 tbsp
- hot water — 900 ml
- salt — 3/4 tsp
- scallions — 1 stalk, cut into sections
Steps (beginner-friendly)
- Pat the fish completely dry inside and out with paper towel (this prevents oil splatter and helps the skin stay intact).
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok over medium-high heat, add 3 ginger slices, and fry 20 seconds until fragrant.
Tip: Fish and papaya soup is the most famous traditional lactation booster in Chinese confinement cooking — drink it warm for best milk-supply support.
